Bring the flavors of a German Christmas market to your home this holiday season with this recipe for homemade Candied Almonds. Flavored with cardamom, cinnamon, cocoa, and vanilla, these candied almonds are bursting with sweet and spicy flavor. These candied almonds make a great party snack or they can be a fun mid workday treat.

Ingredients

1/2 teaspoons cardamom
1 egg whites
50 grams brown sugar
1 tablespoon cocoa (sweet ground)
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/8 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
salt
250 grams almonds

Directions

1Preheat the oven 175 degrees Celsius.
2Place a layer of parchment paper on a cooking tray.
3Mix the cardamom, egg white, brown sugar, cocoa, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, 2 tablespoons cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a large bowl.
4Add the almonds and mix.
5Bake for 20 minutes.
6Remove from the oven, let the almonds cool off completely, sprinkle with the remaining tablespoon of cinnamon, and serve.
