Description

This all-purpose sauce is a staple on Mexican tables during meal time. It comes together with just 8 ingredients and requires only 30 minutes to bring together. Make this in the summertime when the tomatoes and peppers are fresh from the garden. Make a double or triple batch and can it so you can enjoy this fresh and flavorful sauce all year round on everything from eggs to tacos.

Ingredients

3 tomatoes (small)
1 onions (medium, peeled)
1 chile pepper (green, chopped)
1 pinch sugar
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon vinegar (jalapeño, vinegar that jalapeno peppers have been sitting in)
salt
1 pinch fresh oregano (minced)

Directions

1Boil the tomatoes in water until the skin loosens up and can be removed.
2Set aside 1 tablespoon of minced onion. Liquefy the tomatoes with the remaining onion, pepper, sugar, vinegars, and salt.
3Add oregano and chopped onion on top and serve.
