Description

French fries are a traditional family favorite as a side dish. This recipe for Poutine Potatoes just might up the game enough to become a main dish option. Ingredients include prepared French fries of your choice, diced bacon slices, minced garlic clove, minced onions, water, corn starch, dark beer or beef bouillon, salt, ground black pepper, and grated cheddar cheese. It is a powerful punch to the palate.

Ingredients

1/2 bags french fries (prepared)
4 slices bacon (diced)
1 clove garlic (minced)
4 tablespoons onions (minced)
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon corn starch
1 cup beer (dark, or beef bouillon)
salt and ground black pepper
1 cup cheddar cheese (grated)

Directions

1Preheat the oven to 200 Celsius.
2Place the french fries into a baking pan and bake until crispy. Remove from oven.
3Fry the bacon until golden. Remove half the bacon from the pan and drain the excess grease from the pan.
4Add the onion and garlic to the pan and cook until the onion is transparent. Add the bear and cook until it simmers, approximately 2 minutes.
5Dissolve the cornstarch in the water. Add to the pan and stir until a thick gravy is formed, approximately 2 minutes. Add salt and pepper.
6Sprinkle the cheese over the french fries, top with gravy and the bacon.
